NSW: Opera House red hot and ready for Sydney Festival

SYDNEY, Jan 1 AAP - Red Hot is the theme and to make the point, one of Australia's most
recognisable landmarks will turn from lily white to crimson for the annual Sydney Festival.

With the help of 81,000 watts, the Sydney Opera House will glow red during the three-week
arts extravaganza, which begins tomorrow.

The festival will present 247 performances and 175 visual arts exhibitions - showcasing
more than 800 artists (including 360 from 16 foreign countries) and 60 companies.
